TD4 just formed; Far from The Bahamas, formation

BREAKING

Tropical Depression Four has just formed in the eastern Atlantic Ocean about 1,665 miles east of the Windward Islands.

The depression is expected to become Tropical Storm Danny by tonight or tomorrow and could become a hurricane by the weekend.

The system is expected to continue to strengthen but is still many days and almost 2000 miles away from The Bahamas

RARE TO NOT HAVE AN AUGUST STORM

It's not very often we go through an entire August without a single active named storm. In fact, the last time it happened was 18 years ago in August 1997. Before that you have to go back to 1961 to find an August with no named storms.
