TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR THE TURKS AND CAICOS BUT REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF THE ISLANDS OF THE
BAHAMAS.

AT 5AM EDT THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 23.1 DEGREES NORTH AND LONGITUDE 79.0 DEGREES WEST OR
ABOUT 104 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF MARS BAY ANDROS, 211 MILES
WEST OF GEORGETOWN EXUMA, 165 MILES SOUTHWEST OF NASSAU, 245
MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF DUNCAN TOWN RAGGED ISLAND AND 161 MILES
SOUTH OF SOUTH BIMINI.

ISAAC IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 18 MILES PER HOUR.
A WEST-NORTHWEST TO NORTHWEST MOTION IS EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS WITH A GRADUAL DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED. ON THE
FORECAST TRACK…THE CENTER OF ISAAC SHOULD MOVE JUST NORTH
OF THE NORTH COAST OF CUBA THIS MORNING, MOVE NEAR OR OVER THE
FLORIDA KEYS LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT AND MOVE INTO THE EASTERN
GULF OF MEXICO ON MONDAY.

DATA FROM AIR FORCE HURRICANE HUNTER AIRCRAFT INDICATE THAT
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS HAVE INCREASED TO NEAR 65 MILES PER HOUR
WITH HIGHER GUSTS. SOME ADDITIONAL STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST
DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AND ISAAC IS EXPECTED TO BE AT OR NEAR
HURRICANE STRENGTH WHEN IT REACHES THE FLORIDA KEYS.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 205 MILES FROM
THE CENTER. HOWEVER A BAND OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS TRAILING IN
THE WAKE OF ISAAC WILL PRODUCE STRONG GUSTY WINDS TO TROPICAL
STORM FORCE IN THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN ISLANDS FOR THE
NEXT FEW HOURS.

LOCALIZED FLOODING CAN BE EXPECTED IN ALL LOW LYING AREAS.

SMALL CRAFT OPERATORS IN THE WARNING AREAS SHOULD REMAIN IN PORT

TROPICAL STORM ISAAC IS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHWEST NEAR 14 MILES PER HOUR AND A WEST-NORTHWEST TO NORTHWEST MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS WITH SOME INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED. ON THE FORECAST TRACK THE CENTER OF ISAAC SHOULD MAKE LANDFALL IN HAITI SOON…MOVE NEAR OR OVER EASTERN CUBA TODAY…AND MOVE NEAR THE NORTH COAST OF CUBA TONIGHT  AND APPROACH THE FLORIDA KEYS ON SUNDAY.

MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 60 MILES PER HOUR WITH HIGHER GUSTS.  SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST AFTER ISAAC MOVES OVER EASTERN CUBA LATER TODAY…ISAAC IS EXPECTED TO BECOME A HURRICANE ON SUNDAY.

TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 230 MILES MAINLY NORTHWEST AND NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER.

INAGUA, MAYAGUANA AND GRAND TURK ARE CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS. ON THE PROJECTED TRACK, TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS WILL SPREAD INTO ACKLINS, CROOKED ISLAND, LONG ISLAND, RAGGED ISLAND, GREATER EXUMA AND RAGGED ISLAND LATER TODAY. HOWEVER, THIS TRACK WILL LESSEN THE THREAT TO THE ISLANDS IN THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS THAT INCLUDES NEW PROVIDENCE, GRAND BAHAMA, ABACO, ELEUTHERA, BIMINI AND THE BERRY ISLANDS.

GENERALIZED FLOODING IS EXPECTED IN ALL OF THE ISLANDS IN THE WARNING AREAS.

RESIDENTS IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS AND SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS SHOULD HAVE COMPLETED PREPARATION FOR THE PASSAGE OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC. RESIDENTS IN THE CENTRAL BAHAMAS SHOULD RUSH TO COMPLETION PREPARATIONS TO PROTECT OUTDOOR PROPERTIES.
